November 22 product updates

Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Today, before we go into product updates, I want to take some time to address what’s happening in the market today. With the large central banks increasing interest rates, high inflation and the constant news cycle of layoffs in tech can make anyone pessimistic about the future. However, the way I see it, it’s not as bad as it sounds looking at the US labor department’s data for October 2022.

The overall labor market and labor demand remains tight.  Overall separations (discharges + quits) decreased in October by 10.9% compared to September.

The gap between open positions and available workers widened to 4.9 million from 4.2 million a month ago. That’s almost a 17% increase in 1 month

The US National Retail Federation predicts America will spend between 940 and 960 billion USD this holiday season – compared to about 860 billion last year.

The wage growth at 4.7% compared to inflation of 7.7% – meaning that wages are coming down making it cheaper for companies to staff up.

There are definite risks ahead of us and we know things aren’t all good. But, market conditions might not be as bad as they sound. There is a lot of uncertainty ahead of us but a good thing to do is to keep an eye on the data rather than the news/social media cycle.

With that out of the way, onto the product updates! We got a lot of housekeeping done this month. Here are a few things we came up with. As always, here’s a TL;DR video.

New reports – New jobs and Interviews

We released two new reports in the recruiting section – new jobs and interviews.

Interviews

With this report, you can get visibility into how many interviews are planned for each stage, each job or even by each team member. Interviews are your leading indicator of your placements and this report gives you unparalleled visibility into them.

New jobs report

This report gives you an idea about new jobs that were created and you can break it down by account managers, recruiters, clients and a host of other parameters.

New hybrid option for Remote Jobs – For Indeed and Linkedin

Both Indeed and LinkedIn have released hybrid job support on their API. We’ve updated our integration with both where you can now push hybrid jobs to both the platforms. You can mark a job as hybrid in the drop down of the edit job -> settings tab. Check out the help doc here to know more.

!Important – If you are on Office365

As per changes to Microsoft policy, an admin for your Office 365 domain needs to install the Recruiterflow application to continue sending emails and syncing your mailbox. This change only affects Office 365 users. The link for installation is here(it is domain-specific). This is a one-time operation.

Note: An admin of your Office365 domain can be different from your Recruiterflow admin.

Here are a few other updates.
