Associate (m/f/d) for Investment Team

Sao Paulo, Full time


Sourcing: Generate continuous, high-quality deal-flow in the region and drive local pre-seed efforts. Building and maintaining relationships, cold-calling founders, attending and hosting events, analyzing market opportunities.

Diligence and deals: Identification, assessment, negotiation and closing of competitive early stage investments (Pre-Seed to Series A) in the region . Support the full Americas team to ensure deals are executed well and quickly.

Portfolio Operations: Regular discussions with portfolio founding teams,, support in our governance responsibilities, and provide holistic hands-on support to our portfolio companies (branding, recruiting, fundraising).

Firm-building: Proactively lead initiatives and projects that make Picus smarter, faster, and better investors in the local market.

New perspectives: We expect that you will bring new perspectives to Picus and constantly challenge the status quo and how we operate.

Latin America has been a core focus region for Picus with a quickly growing regional portfolio of >20 companies across Brazil, Mexico and broader LatAm. Concurrent with our office opening in São Paulo in April 2022, we are now looking for highly motivated Associates to further expand our footprint in LatAm and support our portfolio companies on their exciting journeys ahead.




  • You have an entrepreneurial personality and mindset with a high degree of self-initiative

  • Superior communication and organizational skills

  • Eager to learn about new things, including jurisdictions, industries and markets outside of your core focus

  • Team player with an exceptional work ethic and have the ability to balance a number of transactions at the same time and prioritize matters in order to ensure that Picus closes transactions quickly


  • Strong academic track record (top 15% of class) at a leading educational institution in the US or South America

  • 2-3+ years experience in a fast-paced environment; preferably in high-growth startups, leading technology firms, strategy consulting, investment banking or venture capital

  • Exceptional analytical skills with strong attention to detail, as well as a deep understanding of business models

  • Very strong MS Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Fluency in business English and Portuguese, both in writing and speaking
