Our client is an employee-owned, award-winning, architectural practice firm with a proven track record in practical, innovative and economical design. During a history spanning some 60 years, They have designed some of Canada’s most notable buildings.

The employee-owned firm is staffed with well over 100 experienced architects, designers, project managers, administrative staff, including LEED, Evidence-Based Design and LEAN accredited professionals, many of whom are dedicated to specific market sectors. 

 

SENIOR ARCHITECT

Role and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate and foster team environment to deliver the highest level of design.
    • Manage the design team and subconsultant coordination process.
    • Ability to lead and present in meetings with clients or municipalities
    • Direct and oversee high-quality documentation, provide guidance with technical detail, & explore new solutions
    • Ability to drive the project forward towards successful completion / Motivates and challenges others to perform at their best
    • Participates in networking activities within the design industry and professional organizations
    • Manage Construction Administration process, able to work independently and handle RFI’s, site visits, field reports, & submittal review

Qualifications and Education Requirements

    • Bachelor of Architecture or Master of Architecture degree
    • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience
    • Experience in the healthcare, justice, institutional, commercial and research areas preferred
    • Eager to learn, good listener, curious & proactive with strong time management skills
    • Clear understanding of applicable codes & building construction systems, materials, and standards
    • Understanding of Permitting & Entitlement process.
    • High proficiency with Revit, Sketchup, & Adobe Creative Suite
