- Set up and operate various Mill & Lathe jobs without supervision ensuring part conforms to specifications and requirements.
- Read and understand standard and geometric tolerances on blueprints and work instructions/operations sheets.
- Minimizing scrap and/or rework
- Accurately verify and document dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gages, height gages, dial calipers, and Optical Comparators.
- Be able to troubleshoot and offer suggestions on how to resolve machining problems/issues and collaborate with engineering on changes needed to be made.
- Maintain 5S practices on machines and in the work area. Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations.
- In addition to Mill duties, cross-training may be required to learn and perform other duties as necessary.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
High School Diploma or equivalent
4-5 years minimum CNC experience on mills/lathe including setup and operation
Ability and experience to operate various types of CNC and manual equipment
Excellent blue-print reading skills
Good use of standard measurement tools
Able to use standard measuring equipment such as micrometers, comparators
Experience with Lean manufacturing principles and ISO quality systems
Good trigonometry and other math skills
Effectively managing tooling including fixtures, inserts, holders, and specialized tooling
