General Manager Korea (Manufacturing & Retail)

Working closely with and reporting to the Corporate President Asia, the General Manager of Korea is expected to manage the following internal and external relationships: Asia Senior Leadership Team, Asia & US Teams in Product Management, Marketing, Finance, HR, Planning, Distribution and Logistics, IT, and Legal, Dealers/Distributors/E-Commerce, Consumers, The Artist Community, MI Trade Associations, Third Party Vendors, and Media.
 

Roles and Responsibilities:​​​​​​

  • Leadership and Integration:
    • Operate as a highly entrepreneurial leader with the ability to navigate through ambiguity and demonstrate a 'hands-on' focus with deft tactical and executional capabilities to secure the successful takeover and transition of the business into the the Company Asia Regional network
    • Establish yourself as the Company leader and key decision maker on the ground among the key stakeholders including the dealers, the Artists' Community, third parties and the general business community in South Korea
  • Business Strategy and Management
    • Develop a 3 year plan in partnership with Company in Asia and the US
    • Become the expert of the Korea market and develop strategies for growth, market share increases across all categories and development that aligns with the global organizational strategy and representation of the brand
    • Achieve or exceed the sales budget, and maximum profitability and contribution towards EBITDA
    • Closely manage and monitor OPEX spend
  • Sales and Marketing
    • Drive marketing and brand activity to support and drive sales aligned with regional and global marketing strategy
    • Monitor and report on market trends and changes and react accordingly to ensure the strategy remains effective
    • Utilize established consumer brand, wholesale & retail experience to create and add-in value to the global iconic brand
    • Manage dealer expectations and develop key customer relationships to ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction at both the dealer and consumer level
    • Provide accurate sales forecasts across all product lines
  • Team Leadership and Organizational Development
    • Provide clear leadership and motivate the team to deliver outstanding results to a level expected from a market leading, world-class organization
    • Evaluate and identify key players on the team as well as talent gaps in the organization. Develop and implement a plan in conjunction with Company in Asia and the US to recruit, retain and develop talents
    • Implement ongoing talent and succession planning to ensure development and retention of the best talent required to drive the business forward now and in the future
    • Create an organizational culture that reflects the local individuality and global consistency and the brand
    • Work in close and supportive collaboration with peers in Asia and the US to ensure success
 

Requirements:

  • Extensive industry expertise and in-depth understanding of the target market
  • Demonstrated proficiency in sales management, with a tenure of at least 10 years in relevant roles
  • Proven track record of successfully establishing and managing a company in South Korea
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration or a relevant field
  • Proficiency in both English and Korean languages 
  • Target driven and results focused individual
  • Natural leader and motivator of people
