Human Resources Specialist

Toronto, Full time is sourcing and screening candidates on behalf of our client, Mortgage Automator. will be responsible for application and screening processes, and if you’re selected, Mortgage Automator will be responsible for the interview stage of the hiring process.

About the company: Mortgage Automator was started in 2013 as a company that created a simple document generating tool for a small private lender in Toronto, Canada. The idea was to relieve the company from their redundant day-to-day tasks, and instead help them concentrate on growing and managing their business. It worked so well that the product was made available to everyone in the industry! 

Since then, the software has evolved significantly to encompass every possible feature and account for all the unique lending scenarios. Mortgage Automator was officially re-launched in 2019 and won the Supplier Innovator of the Year Award from the Canadian Mortgage Awards of Excellence the same year! It continues to evolve, with new features added weekly. Yet at its core Mortgage Automator is a cloud-based CRM that fully automates a private lending business of any size: from document generation, compliance and reporting, to helping manage investor relations.  



  • Office management – replenish missing resources, organize schedules and desks, etc. 
  • Employee records creation, policy creation, incident documentation 
  • Full cycle recruitment – reviewing applications/candidates, first-round screening, contracts, onboarding training 
  • Culture creation/improvement through organizing of social gatherings, celebrations, and internal policies 
  • Conflict resolution, mediation, and disciplinary action when needed 
  • Come into office at least 3 times a week (hybrid) 



  • Degree/diploma in human resources  
  • CHRP and other relevant HR certifications 
  • 3+ years experience in human resources and/or adjacent roles 
  • Willing to build an HR department, mandates, and culture from scratch with little to no support or training 
  • Previous administrative experience an asset 
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Previous experience at a start up an asset
