Karma Search LLC has partnered with a consumer electronics startup looking for a Software Lead/Sr. Embedded Software Engineer. This role will include salary, benefits, equity, unlimited PTO, and remote flexibility, and they will also cover your phone plan. This individual must be living in California or Oregon and has 100% remote capability. The startup has 8 employees across San Francisco and Los Angeles as well as 6 offshore resources (the 3 employees in SF are remote Embedded Software Engineer, and the Executive team works in an office in LA).

They have gained over 120k consumers in just 2.5 years in almost 70 countries.  The company was founded by individuals from companies such as Google and Samsung. They've established partnerships with big names in the industry.

Their product is the first of its kind.within the portable music player and streaming field. This person will need experience with RTOS, WiFi, and Bluetooth, and any experience with consumer products will stand out. He or she will be one of the lead engineers of their product and handle the majority of its architecture and code base.

Must Have:

• 7+ years of C development
• Prior experience leading a team in projects or architecture from concept to deployment
• Previous knowledge of Bluetooth and WiFi
• Good technical knowledge of Bluetooth and WiFi as well as streaming protocols
• History of firmware development on embedded systems (such as ARM Cortex)
• RTOS or embedded Linux experience

Nice To Have:

• Familiarity with audio codecs
• Experience with RTOS such as FreeRTOS, Yocto Linux, or ThreadX
• Background working with wireless drivers
