POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Specialist

DEPARTMENT: Operations

POSITION SUMMARY: 

Under the supervision of the Chief Operating Officer, the Human Resources Specialist provides management and oversight within the Operations team and plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive work culture, ensuring the well-being of our team members, and driving initiatives that align with our mission and values.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
    • Develop and implement HR strategies that support the organization's goals and mission.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align HR practices with organizational objectives.
  • Talent Acquisition and Onboarding:
    • Work closely with our HR Consultants at Essential HR in leading the recruitment process, attracting top talent globally.
    • Enhance and execute effective onboarding programs for new hires.
    • Manage contracts and contract renewal process for all seconded and independent contractors 
  • Employee Relations:
    • Proactively manage employee relations, addressing concerns and fostering a positive work environment.
    • Develop and implement policies that promote fairness, equity, and inclusivity.
  • Performance Management:
    • Oversee the performance management process, providing guidance on goal-setting, feedback, and professional development.
    • Implement performance improvement plans when necessary.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Work alongside our HR Consultant to refine and roll out the compensation philosophy as well as the compensation model for salaries, reviewing current compensation amounts and making adjustments as needed. 
    • Continue to foster relationships with current and potential new seconding agencies.
  • Learning and Development:
    • Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of our team members.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Remote Work Support:
    • Develop policies and practices to support effective remote working.
    • Ensure remote team members feel connected and engaged.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

Professional

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in a senior HR leadership role, preferably in a global organization.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and global HR trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a remote and cross-cultural environment.
