e.construct is an engineering firm that specializes in providing elegant engineering solutions for complex challenges. e.construct is a fast growing firm with offices in Cairo, Sharjah, Dubai, Kuwait, Omaha and Florida. At our core, we question how the very nature of how to evolve the structures that we inhabit to increase their performance and value.
e.construct designs structures such as bridges, high-rise design, precast concrete engineering and post-tensioning design. The firm's core work is structural engineering; however, e.construct is increasingly holistic approach to buildings and has divisions in MEP, Geotechnical and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology and 3D laser scanning.

Role Summary

The Research & Projects coordinator will report to Director of Innovation and will provide research and coordination support on various projects. They will work effectively in both independent and inter-professional team environments. Responsibilities will include conducting research for developing visualizations, providing administrative support and support with coordinating collaborative projects. There will be an emphasis on two items: 1- research that includes sustainability and the built environment. 2- Technology in the architecture and engineering world.

About iCon

A new division for e.construct called iCon ML that will employ technology to empower and eventually transform engineering. iCon aims to construct human-aided design engineering tools. iCon will work with other e.construct divisions with coding, computational analysis, machine learning.
iCon will consist of a team of talented developers, ML experts, designers that builds tools that engineers can use to design and manufacture the next generation of cities.


  • Research on sustainability, built environment, innovation in tech and engineering.
  • Support the coordination of collaborative projects under leadership of the Director. 
  • Work along e.construct Project Manager to develop an editorial strategy and maintain a workplan for visual production.
  • Conduct exploratory research and develop into high-quality briefs as a basis for designers to create visual prototypes.
  • Coordinate internally with the production team to facilitate reviews and feedback on visual projects.
  • Communicate externally to partner organizations to collaborate and solicit feedback and coordinate services.
  • Review and fact-check final e.construct visual outputs including interactives, presentations and web outputs.
  • Build and document e.construct creative culture through documentation of iterations and process mapping.
  • Support outreach with universities and talent.
  • Potentially manage e.construct’s internship program, recruiting and onboarding interns.


  • Strong ability to self-manage and maintain a prioritization system for short and long-term projects and day-to-day tasks;
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a sensitivity for competing deadlines;
  • Strong communications abilities, including email correspondence and writing skills;
  • Direct experience in analytical research;
  • Ability to think laterally, identifying compelling visual storytelling analogies and unexpected data sources;
  • Independent - capable of following direction but does not require constant supervision;
  • Willing to refine tasks repeatedly based on team feedback until goals have been met;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Fresh graduates who have had an active role in student life are welcome to apply.
  • Familiarity with data and elementary data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, RAW);
  • To be passionate about sustainability;
  • Visual communication skills;
  • Experience with spreadsheets;
  • Arabic proficiency (additional languages a plus);
  • Prior research and administrative experience;
  • Leadership positions in student activities;
  • A degree in the humanities;
