We are developing a next-generation sales portal to enable rapid purchase of commercial aircraft spares for our customer, a leading spares seller owned by an aviation giant. You will work as part of a Agile Delivery Team, designing tests and writing automation for an e-commerce platform based on SAP Commerce (formerly SAP Hybris) to make make sure we meet or customer’s expectations. The customer’s plan is to provide the Amazon of the airline industry; “A one-stop commerce ecosystem that guides and delights our customers while growing our partners’ business”.
The Next Generation Portal will host millions of aircraft spares that will be bought by maintenance engineers, manufacturers and suppliers worldwide. The portal, a progressive web application, is designed for fast and easy ordering of parts with user experiences tailored specifically around client buying workflows.
The project is the first phase of a larger programme that will incorporate machine learning and real-time telemetry data to better predict and serve customer spares requirements. A Marketplace function has already been started to ensure the portal becomes the single place on the web for all aircraft spares!
You’ll join an Agile Delivery Team who is building the backend platform that must integrate with our client’s SAP ERP for pricing, inventory, and ordering. The platform exposes a REST API that is consumed by a separate front-end application. You will be writing automation for both the backend, the REST API, as well as the front-end and do exploratory testing on the entire solution.
It's important that our Test Automation Engineers are able to apply prior technical experience and techniques to develop test frameworks and automated tests and enable continuous delivery. The role will require working as part of a delivery team and as such diplomacy, presentation and workshop delivery skills are essential.

You have knowledge of specific tools and approaches that maximise effective and efficient delivery without compromising on quality. You have hands-on experience designing and implementing automation, the ability to engage with developers in order to clearly communicate issues, solve problems and ensure testing standards are met.
