Director, Program Management

 This role will be part of the Program Management office (PMO) team within Global Payments. The position is located in San Jose, CA or Austin, TX. As Director of Program management, you'll manage complex programs and lead a team of talented program managers and will be responsible for managing sophisticated and highly cross-functional end-to-end programs across the Global Payments initiative. The role entails working across the Global Payments organization to develop detailed end-to-end plans, lead execution and communicate progress/issues to all levels. We are looking for a creative, inspiring and driven team member who will create the structure and rigor to manage a sophisticated global initiative; set expectations, accountability and get results from the program teams and communicate status and issues to quickly unblock teams where needed.
 
 Candidate must have knowledge of product lifecycle management and experience in agile execution. In addition, it is important for this role to have technical knowledge to be able to influence and lead technical programs, while communicating, influencing and engaging with the relevant business leaders across payments. This role will require challenging the initiative team comprised of business leaders, senior product managers and engineers, etc. to come up with creative solutions and play devil’s advocate to derive the best possible solutions.

 Responsibilities
 Lead and track the success of all initiative program objectives by working with key business partners including Business Strategy, Payments Partnerships, Operations, Risk Owners, Product, Engineering and cross-functional partners and initiative owners who have a stake in key deliverables to enable optimized and new payments and financial services features and capabilities.
 Partner with business and product stakeholders to define goals, strategy, and roadmaps, and coordinating dependencies across organization
 Develop and update roadmaps, project plans and schedules to oversee all activities, by way of milestones, emerging issues, change requests, resource requirements, dependencies, and time constraints.
 Manage relationships among key stakeholders like Markets and Core Product by building confidence and trust with clear professional communications on all management levels and assured expectation management.
 Drive project execution along with change/business transformation; track delivery; expect, monitor and control change, own scope management and risk management; proactively seek and resolve blockers through effective communication & escalation to stakeholders.
 Conduct progress reviews to assess project outcomes, build confidence that projects will deliver to time, budget and agreed standards. Provide timely, consistent and accurate reporting of the status of initiatives to stakeholders. Develop and deliver necessary presentations including supporting documentation to all levels throughout the organization.
 Drive operational excellence by ensuring successful delivery of projects against strategic priorities
 Hiring and evaluation of new talent. Manage a team of Program Managers and consultants to support program execution
 
 Basic Qualifications:
 BA/BS degree required.
 At least 12 years of experience in technical program management coordinating large cross-organizational initiatives and technical programs.
 At least 5 years of experience leading and managing teams
 Highly proficient in program management and collaboration tools.
 Strong process orientation as well as business acumen and communication skills.
 
 Essential Skills Required:
 Strong verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
 Senior stakeholder management skills across all levels of hierarchy
 Profound knowledge in simplifying/automating ways of working
 Essential leadership skills to direct the operations of a project unit to ensure set goals are achieved. Ability to balance strategic focus with tactical implementation/execution
 Proficient in analytical and problem-solving skills.
 Experience with collaboration, planning and project management tools (e.g. JIRA, Portfolio, Confluence, dashboarding with queries and rich filters).
 Deep knowledge of product lifecycle management, agile execution and have experience working in a cross-functional environment.
 Understand metrics for goal-setting and performance measurement in projects/processes.
 Ability to identify and develop operational processes to improve overall program execution Proficient use of Google Office Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides)
 Knowledge of product development and product management.
