As a Product Manager in the Buyer Experience team, you will be responsible for defining customer needs and values, business impact, product strategy, experience design, development, launch, measurement, and iterations of core buying experiences. You will be part of exploring key opportunities for growth, creating a stellar customer experience, and support all aspects of the Homepage and browsing experiences. You need to be dynamic, organized, collaborative, and curious as we build new experiences and improve existing products that power one of the world’s largest e-commerce websites.
Define the long-term vision of the homepage, and the iterations and learning experiments that will help get there. Drive key objectives of engagement, inspiration, and purchase frequency in close partnership with a cross-functional team of designers, user experience researchers, engineers, business partners, marketing and analytics teams.
In addition, this person will translate product strategy into detailed specifications, make functional and user interface design tradeoffs, manage product launches and own the product successes post-launch. Having the experience and ability to write clear, consistent and detailed product specs will be essential.
The candidate will need to work with a large number of teams within eBay to make the vision of the product successful, so building close, effective relationships with partner Product Managers will be critical.
Bridge the gap between business and technical worlds through the needs of our customers, understanding of key business needs from Homepage and ensuring that solutions help add value for customers that land on the page.
Ability to develop product insights using data including funnel analysis, customer behavior analysis, cohort analysis etc. Define and lead A/B tests to accurately measure the impact of site modifications.
Passion for customer value centered, data-supported decisions and building capabilities to measure impact at each stage of product life cycle.
Keen ability to work closely with engineering, and Machine Learning teams to educate them on customer needs, business value, and understand technical trade-offs and architectural decisions to optimally influence product delivery.
8+ years of product management or related experience. Passionate about quality products.
Strong understanding of user interaction, design, and research
Strong analytic skills and ability to synthesize data from multiple sources
Demonstrated experience in writing clear technical specifications
Experience working closely with internal partners on product planning, design, and development
Experience successfully managing multiple projects through product life cycle from concept to delivery while meeting schedules and budget
Passionate advocate for user, and has proven results in achieving superb user experience within tight constraints
Strong cross functional team leader
Demonstrated leadership ability, self-motivated and directed, entrepreneurial ability to innovate quickly
Outstanding communication skills - verbal, written and presentation abilities.
Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent industry experience
