Head of Digital Media Analytics

This position will be a key contributor in the Customer Growth & Performance marketing team, with a vision to find analytical insights, design tests, and help prototype solutions to drive transformative change in the on and off eBay customer experience that results in significant business growth. We mine the largest datasets in the world of e-Commerce and use best in class analytic and big data techniques to extract impactful insights.
 The individual in this position will work in close partnership with product and business teams supporting our Google, Meta and other Display and Social media partnerships, using data driven insights to drive strategy to optimize targeting and efficiency within Display and Social channels including creation and evaluation of insights and products driving growth. She/he will lead a team of 2-3 data scientists and business analysts to support key strategic initiatives developing cutting edge methodologies for marketing measurement and attribution, such as: Media Mix Modeling, User Behavior Segmentation / Advanced KPI development to measure incrementality, steer media investments and support optimal media budget allocation at all levels of marketing funnel. They will help our display and social channels grow, mining billions of rows of data for insights, and “hack” solutions when the opportunity isn’t being seized. They will then take all these aspects and synthesize them into a clear story to drive leadership to a decision.
 Essential duties and responsibilities
 Collaborate with 3d party advertising partners, such as Google, Meta, Tik-Tok and others on measurement solutions
 Strike a balance between critical thinking and actual hands-on analyses using tools & packages such as SQL, R, Python, Tableau etc.
 Design and readout many variants of testing; A|B, synthetic controls to support measurement of On & Off marketing efforts.
 Develop solutions for targeting at various levels of marketing funnel
 Develop Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) solutions for measurement of ROIs at channel level
 Create metrics and reporting to identify trends in customer acquisition, retention, end-user demographics, seasonality, and geography by customer segment, channel, and product
 Access data from data warehouse and external sources (e.g. Partner APIs)
 Analyze user behavior and create KPIs for marketing performance and attribution
 Assist business partners in setting benchmark goals and support media budget allocations
 Create and present formal readouts of analysis to marketing and senior management.

 Experience with a variety of methodologies for testing and incrementality measurement, such as: synthetic controls, causal impact, MMM is not required, but is a plus
 Deep understanding of attribution of value based on incrementality
 Experience with a variety of Machine Learning Algorithms
 Self-starter who needs minimal direction and able to effectively manage through ambiguity 
 Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Statistics or similar business-related fields. M.S. preferred.
 5+ years modeling, statistical and business analysis experience required (R, Python, PySpark, SQL) in Big Data environments
 3+ years of experience supporting Marketing or Product teams
 Strong quantitative analysis and data mining skills
 Experience and strength in identifying insights from data and ability to translate sophisticated business & analysis in simple layman terms
 Experience working with cross functional business partners
 Excellent communication skills to clearly present business and technical issues, ideas, and recommendations in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
