The eBay Search Services team is looking for passionate, self-motivated, and top-notch software engineers to join our team to build and manage world class Search Services to power multiple applications and experiences across eBay eco-system.
Responsibilities
Define, design, and implement complex, multi-tier distributed systems throughout all phases of the software development life cycle independently as well as work jointly with other team members
Collaborate with architects, product management, engineering, QE and Operations teams to develop innovative solutions adherence to development goals and principles
Lead product design, produce clear, well-documented design docs, and participate in design and code reviews
Recognized as the go-to developer for a major service portfolio and is seen as a leader in their specialized field
Evangelize and communicate your design, methods, and results to a community of developers, analysts, and product managers
Share engineering support, release, and on-call responsibilities for an always-on 24x7 site
Job Requirements
5+ years of software design and development experience, solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, OOPs, and Software Design
Excellent knowledge in practicing object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), design patterns, and software engineering methodologies
5+ years of software development experience in building large scale Web Services and Backend Applications using Java/J2EE, RESTful Web Services, HTTP and JSON technologies
5+ years of hands on experience in Unix/Linux and/or Windows environment
Prior working experience in Agile development teams a major plus
Proven results oriented person with a delivery focused in a high fast-paced and dynamic environment
Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills
Education:
MS + 5 years of experience or Bachelor’s degree (BSCS or BSEE or Other Related 4yr Technical Degree) + 8 years of experience
