DoD SkillBridge Internship - Human Resources Assistant Location: Augusta, GA Requirement : Must be active duty U.S. Military Service Member who qualifies for participation in the DoD SkillBridge program. **Note: We are seeking an intern as soon as possible. POSITION DESCRIPTION - What you will learn: The Human Resources Assistant is responsible for the administrative support of day-to-day human resource operations. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain confidential personnel files and personnel actions Handles employment application intake Performs HRIS data entry and personnel file maintenance Assist with new employee On Boarding paperwork and orientations Responds to reference checks and verifications of employment status Assists with benefits administration to include new enrollments, terminations and reviewing invoices for payment Assists the manager with HR projects Assist in Recruitment efforts and updates/uploads recruitment and personnel documents into the Data Management System (DMS) Assist in developing professional resumes per company formats Assist with termination paperwork Prepare materials for job fairs Maintain employee data sheets and organization charts updated Assist on timesheets reviewing and payroll input Assist on performance appraisals Supports training and retention programs and activities Place orders for office supplies and receives/sends and distribute mail Assist on organization of company events Perform other duties, as requested. REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Degree in Business Management or related discipline. 1+ year office experience preferable in HR related disciplines. Advanced computer skills in MS Word and Excel preferred. Proficient in Outlook and PowerPoint and knowledge of Publisher or other desktop publishing applications. Demonstrated excellent organizational, planning, and communications skills. Detail-oriented, analytical, able to work on multiple assignments and meet deadlines. Ability to work both on a team and independently. POSITION IN THE ORGANIZATION Reports to the Human Resources Director of the company. LOCATION Position located in Augusta, GA with occasionally traveling to other offices and job sites where we have employees. This internship includes: Certification training in HRCI's aPHR certification. OJT and mentorship from OLH, Inc. Mentorship from Vets2PM. Resume writing, Interview Skills Workshop, LinkedIn Optimization Tutorial, and other free resources from Vets2PM to assist you in a successful and stress free military-to-civilian occupation transition.
