As a Solar Installer you will play a key role in the installation of residential solar electric systems throughout Southern California. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, organized, process-driven, and has the desire to learn and grow in this role. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: Reporting to the Crew Lead you will support our residential solar construction efforts Your primary role will be to install the mechanical portion of a residential solar electric project under the direction of the Roof Lead. This will include both rooftop and ground mount projects. In the first 30 days you will develop a thorough understanding of our culture, our process, and the tools necessary to be successful in your role You will receive training on how to safely move on a variety of rooftop slopes and surfaces You will learn how to locate and attach to structural members on the roof without damaging the roof You will learn how to safely install the solar mounting system and then how to safely install solar modules onto the solar mounting system You will be on a team that will generally consist of a Crew Lead, a Roof Lead, and one other Solar Installer You will complete each installation, ensuring that both safety and quality standards are strictly followed Within the first 60 days you will be up to speed with our safety protocols and installation methods You need to represent the HES Solar brand and our top tier level of quality, craftsmanship, and customer service. At the 90 day mark you will have completed training with the Crew Lead and Roof Lead and be fully independent in completing most tasks assigned to you You will start developing the skills necessary to become a Roof Lead KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE: To be successful in this position you will need to be a quick learner, self-driven, organized, and be able to communicate effectively with our customers and our teams. You will know how to use hand tools and the ability to comfortably work on a variety of rooftops. The ideal candidate is efficient, organized, communicates effectively and thrives working both independently and while engaged in group tasks. Above all, this person will assume accountability for producing the highest quality work possible. REQUIRED: Minimum of 1 years experience or relevant solar educational background Ability to work on a variety of rooftops, and small, tight places, such as attics Ability to lift up to 40 pounds safely Valid California driver's license, valid auto insurance, and a clean driving record Dependable transportation is mandatory, work truck a plus Must own professional tools ABOUT US: HES Solar is a local, family owned and operated, full-service solar company that was established in San Diego in 2001.
