Position: Project Manager Company: Nanoarmor (https://www.linkedin.com/company/nanoarmor/about/) Location: Los Angeles, CA -OR- REMOTE About the job Nanoarmor has an immediate need for a talented Project Manager capable of supporting both on-going and emerging SBIR / STTR contracts. Nanoarmor is developing Ultra High Temperature Ceramic Matrix Composites for Hypersonic applications with its Phase II SBIR Contract with the Missile Defense Agency and soon to start Phase I with NASA. Additional contract wins are expected, and Nanoarmor requires additional Project Management leadership to fully execute on its missions. This position requires experience in executing federal research and development (R&D) contracts for contracts awarded through the SBIR / STTR programs, with a strong preference for experience in seeing a contract throughout its lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing projects from inception to completion. This position requires a person that can both develop process and work within defined procedures, to include government requirements. The successful candidate must have a strong experience interfacing with a wide range of internal disciplines, technical data, customers, and over six (6) active subcontractors. Specific demonstrated experience in writing customer monthly and quarterly progress reports, quad charts, tracking deliverables, scheduling work details, and subcontractor management is desired. The successful candidates will have a strong background along with experience in projects in the Government or Defense Contracting Industry. For example DOD, NASA, NSF and NIST. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Manage and track project financials, deliverables, artifacts, and plans. Subcontractor project financials, deliverables, and artifacts Implement and execute proper controls to proactively support, monitor and communicate deliverables, actual status and forecast costs for internal and subcontracted projects Gather data from subcontractors, write, and issue timely monthly progress reports and quarterly reports Assist in the preparation of cost proposals Review and edit documentation such as deliverables and artifacts. Proofing, editing, and formatting all communications to ensure a uniform and clear standard for all documents Capturing key project elements and keeping concise and clear records Attending regular meetings with project leadership, team members, and subcontractors Setup and coordinate meetings Documenting, distributing action items and following up on delivery of actions Assisting with recognizing, monitoring, and providing potential solutions for risks/issues Support proposal review; risk assessment/management; terms, conditions, licensing, and pricing negotiation; and conflict resolution Provide detailed, accurate analysis of proposal, contract, and subcontract terms and conditions Provide support to and work within a team of technical and administrative professionals, providing guidance on contracts obligations Technical R&D experience Job Requirements: Positive, €œcan-do € attitude and talent/experience leading people and cultivating a healthy customer relationship Must have Defense Contractor industry experience Proven ability, capacity, and aptitude with planning, organizing, supervising, coordinating technical work, and obtaining cooperation from others High level of scheduling skills Skilled in the use of IT tools, including spreadsheets, word processing, planning, and scheduling software such as Gannt charts. Excellent oral and written communication skills Expert knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Professional Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Superb organizational and documentation skills Desired Skills: Experience with SBIR contracts and working on a technology and R&D project. Experience working and supporting multiple teams. Experience working on a client-focused project, resourceful, takes initiative, and pro-active approach when solving problems. Work under general direction in an intense environment. Understand, follow, and build operational processes. Demonstrate a positive and eager to learn attitude. Encompass a sense of urgency to complete the tasks at hand. Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and internal work groups. Knowledge of FAR/DFARS, CPRS, and ITAR/EAR export regulations. Experience preparing proposals and basis of estimates. Program Management Professional qualifications are a plus. Experience in chemistry, advanced materials, aerospace, manufacturing Desire to pursue new contract and business development opportunities At least 3 years of experience in developing and implementing innovation and entrepreneurial programming. Knowledge of private and federal grant programs and funding sources. Experience in capturing private and federal funding such as Small Business Innovation Research/Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) funding. Two (2) years ' experience executing programs with prime contractors and sub-contractors preferred Two (2) years ' experience in the preparation and support of various program office meetings, to include US Government-internal meetings, program assessment reviews, interface control working groups, technical interchange meetings, and case reviews At least 1 year of experience working in startup, venture capital and/or entrepreneurship ecosystems. Typical Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 3+ years of industry experience as directly supporting or leading project execution of design and development programs. Security Clearance Prerequisites: US Citizenship Required Ability to obtain security clearance required Travel Required: Not required for daily activities, but probable travel once per quarter.
