Department: SWWC Client Services Job Status: Full Time FLSA Status: Exempt Reports To: Operational Technology Manager Job Type: Regular Amount of Travel Required: Moderate travel Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Positions Supervised: None Location: Sugar Land, TX POSITION SUMMARY The Operational Technology (OT) Analyst's primary objective is contributing the company's implementation and support of operational technology solutions that support field operations in a cost-effective way by completing the requirements of a project or program as assigned. Responsibilities include understanding field operations business processes, associated automation requirements, solution options including in house development / vendor related, and recommending solutions to address those requirements. Under the direction of the Operational Technology Manager, the Operational Technology Analyst will: Install, configure, and maintain operational technology or systems supporting an assigned business unit or functional area. Responsible for collecting business requirements and developing functional specifications. Configure or re-engineer processes, systems, hardware, or software to meet business needs, oversees implementation, and provides post-implementation end-user support and maintenance. May be responsible for requisitioning hardware/software or tracking assets for the assigned unit. Ensure the availability and accuracy of Operational Technology systems per business needs. Operational Technology systems include, but are not limited to: Smart Metering for water systems SCADA & Field Control Systems for water / wastewater systems Locally produced, low-code business applications (i.e. Microsoft Power Apps) Business process documentation Support the OT Data Management, Analytics, and Reporting strategy, as determined by the Operational Technology Manager. Travel to field sites for troubleshooting and repair activities involving OT systems, as necessary. Participate as a team member for significant efforts that involve cross-functional collaboration. Track, document, and report on progress of projects as well as day-to-day activities. Provide end-user support on all desktop/laptop-deployed technologies including operating system support, Microsoft Office and all other productivity suites, SAP client support, remote access, laptop/desktop hardware repair, etc. Actively view, route, update, and/or close trouble tickets Provide 1st and 2nd level support of client-side enterprise applications and technologies Participate as a team member for significant efforts that involve cross-functional collaboration Customer service focus Ability to manage multiple high priorities simultaneously Independent and pro-active assignments with heavy project participation in business and technology transformation POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Competency Statement(s) Communication, Oral - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. Working Under Pressure - Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations. SKILLS & ABILITIES Education: Required: BA/BS preferred. AAS with technical degree (or military training in lieu of) may be considered. Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology, or Information Technology a plus. Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in critical operational roles, or 2+ years with a technical degree that demonstrate the following: Familiarity with basic electrical, mechanical, and fluid system concepts Familiarity with data analytics and reporting concepts Computer Skills: MS Office, SharePoint, Visio; Familiarity with cloud-based application administration is a plus; Awareness of Cyber Security protocols.
