Director of Development

Vincent Village (Fort Wayne, Indiana), Full time

The Director of Development will serve as a key member of the Vincent Village leadership team, working with the Executive Director, Board and other staff leaders to develop and execute an effective fundraising plan. The ideal candidate will have excellent oral and written communication skills with a high attention to detail; an adaptable, resourceful and flexible work style; and the ability to work both independently and as part of a highly productive team.

Key functions for this role include:

  • Developing and deploying creative multimedia strategies to elevate Vincent Village’s branding and storytelling to the community
  • Growing and diversifying the donor base through networking and relationship-building with community leaders and funders
  • Partnering with the Executive Director and Board to plan and execute effective annual fund and major gift initiatives
  • Developing, planning and managing fundraising events
  • Managing marketing efforts, including website and social media
  • Researching and writing compelling grant applications
  • Developing and nurturing community partnerships (including with churches and other nonprofits) to build a base of volunteers and financial support
  • Maintaining the donor database and producing performance and grant-outcome reports

This position requires three years of professional experience and a bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, marketing or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. Qualified candidates will have strong organizational and time-management skills and an ability to multitask effectively. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, social media and donor management software. Applicants must also be passionate about working to improve the lives of people experiencing poverty or homelessness.

The Director of Development is a full-time, exempt position; some evening and weekend work will be required. Applicants must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record and provide their own reliable vehicle for use at work.
