#863 - Communication Watch Officer - Up to $95,000 - Seeking Military Veteran

 
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the NMCC Communications Watch Officer (CWO) on the Integrated Information Management Systems – Information Technology Support Services (IIMS-ITSS) contract. This role is crucial to the Command, Control, and Communications (C3) mission, ensuring 24/7 operational monitoring, coordination, and troubleshooting in alignment with mission requirements.
 

LOCATION:
Arlington, Virginia (on-site at the Pentagon)
  • There are Multiple positions available and three shifts to choose from (days, swings, and mids).

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Real-Time Operational Direction: Provide operational direction to NMCC network enablers, sensor sites, and communications nodes to rapidly restore services. Ensure customer requirements for technical quality and reliability are met.
  • Technical Systems Engineering Support: Offer high-level technical systems engineering support, including identifying, recording, assessing, tracking, and resolving trouble tickets promptly. Maximize network availability and reliability by verifying incident resolution with users.
  • Network Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate, communicate, and supervise scheduled network maintenance with minimal operational impact. Inform stakeholders of maintenance status and report significant outages to leadership. Supervise maintenance of systems and network control center.
  • Connectivity Assurance: Ensure National Command Authority and Continuity of Government connectivity for senior leaders and government agencies. Provide operational support for missile warning and worldwide situational awareness systems.
  • Contingency Operations Support: Provide communications support for contingency operations and planning using various systems. Perform general LAN/MAN/WAN administration and offer technical leadership in the integration and testing of large-scale computer-integrated networks.
  • Initiative and Flexibility: Demonstrate initiative, organization, responsibility, customer service skills, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. Monitor and manage the primary distribution center for sensitive messages.
  • Coordination and Validation: Validate connectivity between National Command Authorities, combatant commanders, allies, and U.S. agencies. Coordinate time-sensitive operations and communication effectively.
  • Monitoring and Testing: Conduct monitoring, testing, and communications checks of warning systems, situational awareness tools, and priority communications systems. Control access, storage, handling, and distribution of restricted/sensitive NMCC publications and correspondence.
  • Analysis and Troubleshooting: Monitor and analyze indications and warnings, operational status, and other conditional factors. Perform periodic quality checks of critical C2/C3 circuits and troubleshoot LAN/MAN/WAN and networking issues.
  • Technical Knowledge Application: Apply technical knowledge, training, guidance, and expertise to determine the appropriate course of action and best solution for complex integrated networks. Keep the customer apprised of operational status under varying situational events.
  • Operational Requirements Planning: Work with customers to determine operational requirements for future system capabilities. Schedule network conversions, oversee network control centers, and provide technical leadership for major network upgrades and test events.
  • Independent Judgment: Exercise sound independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria. Identify needs and anticipate customer requirements through effective planning and analytical analysis.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety and security requirements, policies, and procedures. Adhere to worksite access protocols, training requirements, certifications, and other assigned duties/projects.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent, AND;
  • Minimum Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI Eligibility, AND;
  • DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical Level II (IAT-II) Certification CompTIA Security+CE, AND;
  • 5+ years of experience providing System Engineering & Analytical Support of military IT systems with demonstrable knowledge of and success supporting DoD missions
