#858 - Shop Tech II - Seeking Transitioning Service Member (Skillbridge Program)

 

We are seeking a transitioning service member to join our team as an Intermediate-level General Labor Shop Technician (this position offers many GROWTH opportunities and can convert to a permanent position).

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

We are looking for an Intermediate-level Shop Tech II who will be responsible for performing a variety of equipment maintenance and repair tasks with minimal supervision.

Shop Tech II must demonstrate proficiency in the use of tools, equipment, and safety protocols, and contribute to the efficient completion of projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety.

 

DAY-TO-DAY:

1. Perform general labor tasks related to equipment repair and maintenance in a shop/yard facility.
2. Will be able to complete sandblasting, painting, and grinding operations with little to no supervision. 
3. Will be able to operate basic shop equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, skid steers, and pallet jacks with little to no supervision. 
4. Will be required to swap hydraulic hoses and other hydraulic components. 
5. Will be required to swap engine components such as starters, alternators, hydraulic pumps, water pumps, etc. 
6. Will demonstrate basic abilities with 12-volt wiring and diagnostics. 
7. Will be required to perform services on marine transmissions, boat motors, and small engines. 
8. Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues with tools and equipment.
9. Train and mentor entry-level shop Tech III, providing guidance and support as they learn the trade.
10. Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines during construction and environmental services operations.
11. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
12. Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs to advance toward higher-level Field Tech positions.

 

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience as a general labor technician or in a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair techniques and principles.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to perform physically demanding tasks
