We are seeking a transitioning service member to join our team as an Entry-level General Labor Shop Technician (this position offers many GROWTH opportunities and can convert to a permanent position).

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

We are looking for an Entry-level Shop Tech III who will be responsible for learning the basic elements of equipment repair and maintenance activities in the shop/yard.

Under close supervision, Shop Tech III will gradually gain experience and familiarity with the equipment, techniques, and safety protocols used in a dredging equipment repair and maintenance shop facility, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety guidelines.

DAY-TO-DAY:

1. Assist with general labor tasks under the guidance of experienced shop technicians and supervisors.
2. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
3. Assist with activities such as painting, grinding, cleaning, organizing, and assisting all departments in the shop/yard facilities. 
4. Will be trained to perform fluid and filter changes on company-owned equipment. 
5. Will be required to grease bearings and pins as well as packing wheel bearings on trailers with grease. 
6. Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines during maintenance and repair activities.
7. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
8. Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs to advance toward higher-level Shop Tech positions.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver's license
• Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of a working shop environment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to perform physically 
  demanding tasks
