#856 - Field Tech I - Seeking Transitioning Service Member (Skillbridge Program)

 

We are seeking a transitioning service member to join our team as a Senior General Labor Field Technician (this position offers many GROWTH opportunities and can convert to a permanent position).

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

We are looking for a Senior-level Field Tech II who will be responsible for overseeing and managing a variety of heavy civil construction and environmental services tasks.

Field Tech I must demonstrate expert-level knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety protocols, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

 

DAY-TO-DAY:

1. Supervise and manage all aspects of heavy civil construction and environmental services tasks, including the use of tools, equipment, and safety protocols.
2. Provide guidance and support to Field Tech II and III, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety guidelines.
3. Develop and implement efficient construction and environmental services strategies, optimizing resource utilization and project timelines.
4. Oversees and conducts all routine maintenance on company-owned equipment on-site at the direction of the site superintendent and/or foreman. Logs all work performed in the appropriate company-assigned maintenance and repair logs. 
5. Able to independently manage the pipeline behind the dredge, while communicating with the leverman, knowing when to add/remove the pipe, and set up the line for the least amount of downtime and the most amount of dredge productivity, ensuring the complete safety of the crew and/or the public. 
6. Able to efficiently manage dredge moves most safely, while remaining efficient and minimizing downtime. 
7. Closely monitors tides and currents and makes adjustments to mooring lines as needed. 
8. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to maintain a strong safety culture within the team.
9. Collaborate with other company departments, such as project management and environmental compliance, to ensure successful project completion.
10. Participate in ongoing professional development and industry training to stay current with the latest construction techniques and environmental services technologies.

 

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience as a general labor field technician or in a related field, with a proven track record of success
  • Valid driver's license
  • Expert knowledge of heavy civil construction and environmental services tasks, tools, and equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to perform physically demanding tasks
  • Familiarity with relevant environmental regulations and best practices for heavy civil construction and environmental services operations
