We are seeking a transitioning service member to join our team as an Intermediate General Labor Field Technician (this position offers many GROWTH opportunities and can convert to a permanent position).

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

We are looking for an Intermediate-level Field Tech II who will be responsible for performing a variety of heavy civil construction and environmental services tasks with minimal supervision.

Field Tech II must demonstrate proficiency in the use of tools, equipment, and safety protocols, and contribute to the efficient completion of projects while maintaining a strong focus on safety.

DAY-TO-DAY:

1. Perform general labor tasks related to heavy civil construction and environmental services 
independently or with limited supervision.
2. Troubleshoot and resolve minor technical issues with tools and equipment.
3. At the direction of Field Tech 1, complete any routine maintenance and or equipment repairs 
made onsite.
4. Properly communicates field service or maintenance requests verbally and/or digitally. 
5. Tying and untying knots properly. 
6. Rolling eyes in braided steel cable.
7. Secures mooring lines to vessels. 
8. Moves dredge anchors by safely and effectively operating a dredge tender boat.
9. Moves dredge and barge equipment utilizing dredge tender boats by approved methods.
10. Couples and aligns sections of dredge pipelines to ensure efficient discharge of silt from the waterway. Sets anchors to secure float lines. 
11. Closely monitors tides and currents and makes adjustments to mooring lines as needed. 
12. Train and mentor entry-level Field Tech III, providing guidance and support as they learn the 
trade.
13. Adhere to safety protocols and company guidelines during construction and environmental 
services operations.
14. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and timely completion of projects.
15. Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs to advance toward higher-level Field Tech positions.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• High school diploma or GED
• 2+ years of experience as a general labor field technician or in a related field
• Valid driver's license
• In-depth knowledge of heavy civil construction and environmental services tasks and equipment
• Strong communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to perform physically demanding tasks
