This is a temporary, benefits eligible position, with an expected end date of of one year from date of hire. This position may be shortened, extended, or converted to a regular, full-time position without reposting, based on work and/or department need.
Salary Range: $39,703 - $50,000/annualized (beginning salary negotiable based on education, experience, and qualifications).
Exempt Position: 40 hours per week.
Function: To design, develop, and maintain complex websites and web applications using advanced web authoring code.
Scope: Responsible for implementing web functionality utilizing current advanced web authoring code based on client interface to determine needs and specifications.
Typical:
1. Consult with clients to determine goals and requirements for the development and deployment of web sites and applications.
2. Design and develop web page text and visual content, navigational links, and page layout using advanced web authoring code. Design or integrate graphics, business content, and databases as appropriate to develop feature-rich web applications.
3. Document design flow, installation and operating procedures as appropriate.
4. Meet with clients as appropriate to evaluate and modify website, as well as respond to inquiries regarding errors, problems or questions on web sites.
5. Monitor performance of web sites after implementation.
6. Research new methods, techniques, and software and make appropriate recommendations to ensure state of the art web design.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Periodic:
1. Compile, analyze, and report website utilization statistics.
2. Conduct usability testing to determine website functionality relevant to client needs and ease of use.
Usual: Usual office conditions.
Special: Occasional extended work hours may be required to meet deadlines.
At present, this role is a UTSA telecommuting position, and the candidate selected for this position will be required to work from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telecommuters may be required to work on campus at times; travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility. It is expected that this position will return to campus in the future.
