POSITION
We are seeking a junior to mid-level software engineer to help build software for our platform. The system handles isolated apps, mass data aggregation, real time data communication, web interfaces, and medical device interfacing - all on a Linux base. In this position, you will focus on addressing the interoperability challenges that arise when integrating medical devices made by different manufacturers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop software according to specifications and requirements to translate the native communication protocols of medical devices and other equipment to the common DocBox protocol
Develop applications to simulate device protocols and operation
Write code using C/C++ with an understanding of object-oriented concepts
Write and use shell scripting to interact with medical devices
Gain usable knowledgeable of the DocBox system architecture, and the health information technology standards that guide its development
Work with data distribution service (DDS) middleware for real-time data exchange, and with database technologies for data storage
Write unit tests and automation tests to help the test team
Document software implementation and behavior
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline and at least one year of relevant experience
Proficient understanding of Ubuntu Linux
Experience in C/C++
Ability to learn and work independently
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant medical device experience and exposure to the healthcare environment
Experience with embedded systems
Experience with RTI DDS Connext
Knowledge of Git, Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket
Experience with software build/release systems
Experience with SQL
Experience with multiple modern programming languages
Experience with systems integration, distributed systems, and networking technologies
Knowledge of data patterns, object-oriented programming, and functional programming
Experience with Apache, Cloudera, and Google Cloud Platform services
Experience with virtualization or containerization
