Amentum - Cloud Computing Engineer SME

Job Summary

Amentum is currently seeking a Cloud Computing Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support an IT Managed Services program for the Department of Energy. The overall program includes a 500+ work force performing Enterprise IT support, Service Desk, and Telecommunications support across multiple facilities and locations. The Cloud Computing Engineer will provide on-site and off-site software, cloud, and virtualization support services for classified and unclassified telecommunications and information technology (IT) systems for National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia (NTESS).

 

Responsibilities:

  • All work requires ability to provide SDLC and associated artifacts.
  • Ability to contribute to project plans and adherence to project milestones.
  • Design, deliver and maintain medium level software development efforts for critical business needs.
  • Provide documented proposals for new, optimized, or refactored software solutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be a U.S citizen
  • Must possess a TOP SECRET (TS) or DOE Q level security clearance.
  • Must have a Bachelor's Degree and at least 4 years of experience relative to the requirements or Associates degree and 7 years or High School / GED and 10 years of experience.
  • Experience developing software with object-oriented languages like Java, C++, or Ruby.
  • Extensive knowledge about REST APIs, when to use JSON or XML.
  • Experience with cloud services (OpenStack, Azure Stack AWS). Experience implementing Azure B2B authentication.
  • Solid understanding of virtual computing and virtualization software (VMware, KVM).
  • Demonstrated understanding of networking, software defined networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
  • Experience with Linux/UNIX systems and the best practices for deploying applications to those stacks.
  • Experience with different databases (Postgres, Casandra, Mongo).
  • Familiar with DevOps principles and methodologies, deployment checklists.
  • Full stack developer with Python expertise.
  • Integrate XML scripts to software routines under development/
  • Ability to perform research and recommendations for technical software architecture, design and implementation.
  • Basic SharePoint knowledge for web services integration to SharePoint portal

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing cloud technologies, Azure preferred.
  • SLN cloud architecture knowledge and related infrastructure resources.
  • SNL project plans for SIA application.
  • Understanding of OAuth standard and experience in implementations or integrations.
  • JavaScript, web front end development.
  • Knowledge of use and implementation of IBM DOORS application is desirable but not required.
