Vice President of Finance
Rapidly Growing Direct-to-Consumer Marketing Firm

Terrific role with a direct-to-consumer marketing company that assists large insurance companies with acquiring new customers. Due to significant growth, we are seeking their first Vice President of Finance that will lead the development and strategic oversight of the finance and accounting departments of the organization. This new position will report to the CEO and be responsible for the monthly close process, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, internal controls and building a team to handle the day-to-day accounting and finance functions. Qualified candidates will have approximately 7 to 10+ years of relevant experience with increasing responsibilities, including management. Salary commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic oversight of the accounting and finance functions for the company
  • Hire, manage and mentor a team to handle day-to-day financial operations, as needed
  • Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Cash management, including cash flow projections and oversight of AR and AP
  • Integral in budgeting, forecasting/projections and strategic planning
  • Ensure the firm is following all regulatory/compliance accounting guidelines
  • Lead the financial close process
  • Review business processes and make recommendations for improvement to management
  • Establish and maintain internal controls
  • Work closely with external auditors on the year-end audit process
  • Analyze performance and improve efficiencies throughout the firm (Revenues and expenses)
  • Review business contracts and agreements as it relates to accounting
     

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA and/or CPA a plus
  • 7 to 10+ years of experience in finance positions of increasing responsibility, including at least 3 years supervising direct reports
  • Exceptional communication skills, effective time management, sense of urgency and action oriented
  • Ability to assess matters of importance from a GAAP perspective
  • Exceptional strong analytical ability; detail orientated
  • Advanced Excel skills required; knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Insurance industry experience a plus
