But if your value is the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Judgement<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> of who to hire, AI is the best thing that ever happened to your margins.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to Julien, executive search is one of the most difficult businesses to disrupt with AI since it is heavily dependent on judgement, no intelligence.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One of the most jarring statistics in the Sequoia report is the spend ratio: <\/span><b>For every $1 spent on software, companies spend $6 on services.<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A company might pay LinkedIn or an ATS <\/span><b>$10,000 a year<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for search intelligence. This is the &#8220;Software Budget.&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><b>The Work:<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> That same company will pay a search firm <\/span><b>$60,000 for one hire.<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> This is the &#8220;Judgement or Services Budget.&#8221;<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The &#8220;Judgement or Services&#8221; bucket is <\/span><b>6x larger<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> than the &#8220;Software&#8221; bucket in this scenario.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goal isn&#8217;t just to use AI to work faster. It\u2019s to leverage AI to gather context &amp; intelligence allowing consultants to do what they do best: building relationships and making placements.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Redefining_the_MOAT_for_your_search_business\"><\/span><b>Redefining the MOAT for your search business<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sequoia\u2019s &#8220;Opportunity Map&#8221; highlights where AI &#8220;Autopilots&#8221; will win first.
