One fine day, he saw an advertisement for a trainee recruitment consultant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cI had no idea what a recruitment consultant was, but I saw the \u2018trainee\u2019 part and thought, well, I don\u2019t need to know anything because they\u2019re going to train me.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What began as a leap into the unknown evolved into a 13-year career with the company. As a recruiter, I excel at building personal relationships and communicating with people, but digging into the minutiae isn\u2019t something I particularly enjoy.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another significant challenge was building a brand image for Orange Monkey Recruitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>\u201cWhen I started the business, nobody knew who I was. I had to build a reputation from scratch. It was incredibly difficult to earn the trust of potential clients and get them to hand over their recruitment needs.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This hurdle made it tough for him to get business initially. But Mike remained determined. He knew that perseverance would pay off. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his own words, \u201cIf you can push through those early challenges, it gradually gets easier as your company, brand, and reputation grow.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-using-technology-to-tackle-administrative-challenges\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Using_Technology_to_Tackle_Administrative_Challenges\"><\/span><strong>Using Technology to Tackle Administrative Challenges<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Mike&#8217;s dislike for administrative tasks sparked his interest in technology. From creating job advertisements to conducting <a href=\"https:\/\/recruiterflow.com\/blog\/boolean-search-in-recruitment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Boolean searches<\/a> and drafting emails, AI tools have now become integral to his workflow. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With technology, Mike has found balance; he can focus on what he loves\u2014building relationships and growing his agency\u2014while effectively managing the administrative side of his business. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Plus, he uses AI for professional development. \u201cRather than spending 30 minutes reading a document, I can get the key insights in 30 seconds,\u201d he says\u2014a time-saving approach that perfectly aligns with his preference to minimize administrative burdens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-success-means-to-mike\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_Success_Means_to_Mike\"><\/span><strong>What Success Means to Mike<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>For Mike, success is defined by freedom, authenticity, and continuous progress. In his previous role, Sundays used to fill him with dread at the thought of Monday meetings. Now, he finds joy in planning his week. \u201cI look forward to it. I plan my Sundays with excitement, not anxiety. So, success means I don\u2019t dread work anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Financial independence also plays a significant role in Mike&#8217;s definition of success.
