Business Development Representative

Our client is looking for a Business Development Representative to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers and referral sources. You will join a small but growing team in the accounting industry who are experts in their field. They care deeply about helping people save money and providing valuable consulting to their clients. This role is in Pasadena, CA.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns, networking, or cold calls and meeting quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with prospective clients in order to book meetings with a technical sales executive. ·       Generate and qualify leads as sales opportunities

·       Contact potential clients and referral sources through cold calls, onsite visits, and emails

·       Present our company to potential clients and referral sources

·       Identify client needs and suggest appropriate products/services

·       Build long-term trusting relationships with clients and referral sources

·       Proactively seek new business opportunities in the market

·       Set up meetings or calls between (prospective) clients and Executive Team

·       Report to the team on (weekly/monthly/quarterly) sales results and activities


·       2+ years of work experience as a Business Development Representative, Sales Account Executive or similar role

·       Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques (including cold calling)

·       Experience with CRM software (e.g. Salesforce) and with MS Office (especially Excel)

·       Excellent communication skills and personable/persuasive over the phone

·       Perseverance, strong work ethic, and ability to persistently follow-up and follow-through

·       Experience and desire to work in a boutique consulting firms with a small group of committed individuals

·       The desire to get away from your desk to meet people and the ability to travel locally >25% of the time to visit clients and build relationships (i.e. reliable car, insurance and DL)

Ideal Candidate

·       Experience selling the intangible, or services, rather than a physical product

·       Experience selling in the accounting, financial, or data industries, especially to CPA’s

·       Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
