The hiring company is an innovative and disruptive to the current tobacco market, leading the way with its vapor products. They hire from diverse backgrounds (healthcare, finance, etc.) to really bring creative thinking to the forefront in business and welfare decisons. 

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Director of Marketing should focus on the growth potential for the next 3-5 years of the vapor product offerings.
  • Will work closely with sales as well as other key partners to develop the business process planning:
    1. Understand & anticipate customer & consumer wants/needs
    2. Make great marketing outreach to reach where customers are most receptive 
    3. Drive penetration and increase household usage (repeat customers)
  • Additionally, the ideal candidate wiill assume a role with strong leadership to develop and define the optimual customers, trends and develop road maps for new trends 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Working with Senior Leadership Team
    • Develop & implement brand strategies, incentives, and household penetration.
    • Access impact of macroeconomics and consumer trends.
    • Analyze categories and geographies
    • Review capabilities
    • Recommend strategies
    • Develop intelligence 
  • Plan and develop brand activation for the U.S. business. 
  • Collaborate with all functions to ensure satisafction. 
  • Strategic Marketing Leadership: 
    • Assess competitive landscape
    • Deep understanding target consumers
    • Define brand strategy & vision & empowering team to execute marketing plans
  • Agency Relationship Management: 
    • Successful management of agency relationships ensuring advertising & promotional initiatives:
      • cost-effective
      • drive ROI
      • consistent with overall strategy
  • Consumer Engagement: 
    • Enhance the organization’s understanding and use of modern marketing touchpoints (i.e. digital, social, mobile) with the aim of developing communities of engaged consumers who can act as brand ambassadors and influencers.
  • innovation & New Product Development: Provide organizational leadership which drives new innovation via a multi-year product pipeline and robust research & development plans.
  • Recruit, retain, and inspire a world-class marketing team of highly engaged, collaborative professionals to support the future growth and development of the strategic marketing and brand building function.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Seasoned Marketer / Brand Builder: 
    • Brand builder with 10+ years of B2C marketing experience & success leading integrated marketing & advertising campaigns and teams of 10+ people.
    • Must have expertise in brand launches and/or relaunches both conceptually and strategically.
    • Must be a results-oriented, ROI driven marketer who can tie investments back to business growth.
  • Strategic “Doer”: 
    • Naturally proactive with a strong strategic mind grounded in the consumer viewpoint and untapped opportunities for the business.
    • Clarifies & simplifies complex information
    • Spot trends & possibilities leading to new business opportunities

    • Proven track record successfully leading marketing for a business of comparable scale and complexity.

    • Has led robust research and analytics programs with the ability to generate new knowledge, approaches and consumer understanding.
    • Proven expertise building, executing, and measuring data-driven marketing programs across online and offline channels.

  • 10+ years of relevant marketing and general management background encompassing strategy, product marketing, brand management, market analysis, market research, with a focus on market expansion and identifying emerging market trends.
  • Proven track record delivering outstanding business results for a managed product line.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast, ever changing environment.
  • DNA: personable, self-starter, no/low ego, “player-coach”, collaborative, down to earth, resilient, driven, accountable.
  • Ability to motivate and achieve results through a highly visible, transparent management style.
  • A fundamental understanding of the “numbers” encompassing market and financial analysis, pricing, resource allocation, margins, costs, ROI, etc. Ability to understand technical issues and tradeoffs combined with capability of communicating them to business partners.
  • Travel up to 25%.

EDUCATION:

  • Marketing/business or technical undergraduate degree is required
  • MBA or other advanced degree is preferred
