Seeking a diverse and multi-faceted candidate to join our evolving Marketing/Public Relations Department. In this role, the PR Specialist will be responsible for specialized and administrative duties, including the coordination of lead concept development, writing and editing press releases and editorials, as well as increasing the company’s visibility through online and offline channels. The successful candidate must possess superb written and verbal communication skills and have in-depth knowledge of marketing trends.
The PR Specialist will work closely with the Director of Engagement and the Chief Marketing Officer to develop and implement a broad, comprehensive, and strategic marketing and communications plan to promote brand recognition and elevate the company’s community profile.
The PR Specialist will report directly to the Director of Engagement and is a full-time employee.
*Cultivate and maintain working relationships between the company and the media as well as other key community/industry organizations. *Serve as the secondary media contact as needed.
*Create and coordinate a comprehensive publications program (concept, design, content, editorial, and production for paper and electronic communications) that reaches and influences target audiences.
*Monitor and identify emerging marketing opportunities to enhance brand recognition and responsive marketing strategies
*Recommend techniques to improve the company’s public image
*Create and Edit Content
*Assist PR team in planning & executing company events (must be available for week night & weekend travel
*Coordinate meetings, press conferences, and presentations
*Perform other duties as assigned
*Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Public *Relations or Journalism.
*A minimum of two years’ related communications/marketing experience
*Ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities with multiple demands and deadlines
*Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to details
*Strong written and verbal skills
*Ability to translate complex technical concepts into language easily comprehensible to diverse audiences
*Ability to collaboratively work with a team, while also feeling confident working on projects alone
*A criminal history background check is required of all employees.

*Savvy with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and related Google programs
