About the Business Development Manager position

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to act as the liaison between our Marketing and Sales teams. Your role will be to seek new business opportunities by contacting and developing relationships with potential customers.

In this critical role, you will be responsible for identifying and closing new business in the North American territory as well as developing and executing new strategies for growing the business across the payor/medicare advantage vertical. Your success in this role will be defined by new customer acquisitions and expansion of our business into relevant markets.

The ideal candidate for this role is be experienced in the Health Systems/Medicare Advantage customer segment and have a record of success as a ‘trusted advisor’ in a consultative sales model. You partner effectively with internal resources from compliance, marketing, and operations to perfect our offerings and have a structured approach to your work.

To be successful in this role, you should have previous experience developing leads from marketing campaigns and meeting sales quotas. You will use your communication skills to cultivate strong relationships with customers, from first contact until you close the deal. You will also ensure proper after-sales service. Business Development Manager responsibilities are:

  • Qualify leads from nontacting prospective and current clients
  • Staying up to date with new services/products and plans
  • Assigning the appropriate services/products to clients
  • Presenting information to clients
  • Participating in sales meetings
  • Maintaining customer info and records
  • Setting up meetings for clients and executives
  • Reporting to the business development management when required
  • History of achieving demanding quotas through client management and advocacy
  • Proven success in consultative sales with C-level and other executive decision makers
  • Domain experience and able to bring an established book of relevant relationships in the North American territory
Requirements:
  1. 5 + Years of experience selling to Medicare Advantage plans
  2. Selling to care management required
  3. Experience in start up/high growth company with entrepreneurial spirt strongly preferred
  4. Proven record of achieving a specific quota
  5. Experience with salesforce software
  6. Able to use multiple platforms
  7. Understanding and analysing the sales metric system
  8. Great negotiation skills
  9. Able to suggest ideas and give effective presentations
  10. Expert in navigating the sales cycle and timelines for embedding new product and services into plan designs and negotiating contract pricing
  11. Has already built strong business relationships and networks with key decision makers at MA, BCBS and other commercial health plans
